Glossybox Un-boxing- June's box

So yesterday I received my June Glossybox in the mail. I always receive last month's box at the beginning of the next month, which used to bother me but now I just get so excited to receive the box that I don't even care.

So June's theme was the American Beauty box and they introduced the "Glossy Girl" illustrated by "fashion illustrator extraordinaire" Dallas Shaw. The sketch is supposed to represent You- stylish, worldly, confident, and mad for beauty. I feel this sketch in no way embodies me, but hey whatevs. Dallas Shaw also chose the product collection, all pulled from beloved American brands, all manufactured in the United States.

So onto the products I received and a little bit about each one.

^SpaRitual nail polish in "Spice of Life" which is a gorgeous deep, shimmery burgundy color. "SpaRitual offers a wide range of fun, sophisticated, and modern shades to help you express the most colorful side of you. The nail lacquers are crafted out of naturally formulated, vegan, certified organic, and fair-trade ingredients, resulting in superior texture and quality. Colors will vary"
A full size sells for $12.00 / 15 ML

I am already pretty familiar with SpaRitual nail polishes, because that's what we used at Aveda to do manicures. So I was super excited to receive this in my box, because even though I have used these polishes hundreds of times I have not owned one myself. The color I received fits me perfectly. I feel as though I can never have enough dark burgundy colors, because they are my favorite. I only wore this color for a day, because I changed it out for a red, white, and blue theme but I know that this formula lasts pretty well, even without the SpaRitual base and top coat.

^c. Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist. "Elegant, nourishing oils absorb quickly into skin to smooth and soften while providing hydration. This dramatically lightweight dry oil for face and body imparts a light, lasting glow for instant radiance. Infused with a gentle, sweet blend of honey and almond, it's the ultimate aromatic indulgence for the skin and senses!"
Full Size $8.00 / 4 FL OZ

I have been using this spray on my face at night after I cleanse and moisturize just to add an extra hydrating punch to my routine. So far it has not broken my face out or clogged my pores. It is super hydrating and leaves a gorgeous sheen to the skin. I have also used it on my shoulders, arms, and a little on my legs after my shower, while my skin was still damp, and it absorbed beautifully and left a pretty glow to my skin, not to mention it really moisturized my dry skin. I really think I have found my new favorite body oil. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, or petrochemicals which is wonderful.

^Tarte complexion enhancing lipstick. "Get total lip therapy in a beautiful nude shade that's uniquely you! These creamy lipsticks have a glossy, tinted core that gives the appearance of fuller-looking, luscious lips. Thanks to complexion-enhancing pigments and emollient waxes, lips have never appeared more youthful."
Full Size $14.50 / .12 OZ

When I first opened this I was kind of scared of how it would apply. The outside of the lipstick is a brownish nude and the center shade is a hot pink, so I figured this would look so weird mixed together. However, it creates a gorgeous pinky-nude shade when all mixed together. When you first apply it the outline is brown and the inside of your lip is pink which is slightly strange so I just ran my finger over it to mix it and I have to say the color looks amazing on my skin tone. I'm not a fan of super nude lips so this is really my perfect nude shade. Be on the watch for this lip color to appear in my next look.

^Phillip B. Nordic Wood hair and body shampoo. "Phillip B. products revitalize every type of hair while evoking a warming, cooling or refreshing sensation and delivering glossy, radiant hair. The brand's botanical products caters to a broad range of hair types- dry/damaged, colored/chemically treated, thinning/volumizing, wavy/curly/frizzy, flat/very fine, oily, and normal. You will receive one Phillip B. product in the box."
No price given

As I mentioned I received the "Nordic Wood hair and body shampoo. I had to go on the Phillip B. website to get some info on this product, because the info card as you can see doesn't really give any. The site says that it is a "nurturing, one-step cleanser that tones and hydrates skin and hair." It also says that it is "cooling and refreshing." I would never use this on my hair, because my hair is way too dry and color treated and I have used these types of products before and they are just way to drying for my hair and just end up making it feel brittle. I also have to say I really didn't like it as a shower gel either. The scent isn't one I prefer as it is more manly, so I am going to give this to my fiancee to use, because other than the scent it is a nice body wash.

^Oscar de la Renta Essential Luxuries. "Inspired by the designer's mastery of fashion, Oscar de la Renta introduces a tailored line of six unique scents imbued with his love of beauty and luxury. Comprised of specially sourced ingredients of the most exceptional quality, each fragrance echoes the close connections to Oscar's vibrant life and loves, and perfectly speaks his language--find joy, be sparkling, feel gorgeous.
Full Size $150.00 / 3.4 FL OZ

Inside the Glossybox magazine Dallas Shaw did photoshoots inspired by each of the 6 scents: Santo Domingo, Granada, Oriental Lace, Mi Corazon, Sargasso, and Coralina. It was really neat to see the notes and what the scents were inspired by come to life using Oscar de la Renta's designs. I have not yet picked my favorite scent of the bunch, because they all smell so rich and luxurious, and not to mention just plain gorgeous.

Overall I have to say I am happy with June's box. I found a few products I really love and one I'm so-so about, but I have to say I don't hate any of the products which is always a good thing. I can't wait to receive July's box, because the them is "Weddings". Now as someone who became recently engaged I am seriously excited to receive this box.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and I would love to know if you get Glossybox, or any other monthly subscription boxes, and how you feel about them.

    1. I got New Beauty once and I loved it, but then I decided to get Glossybox, which I really love, and IPSY which I used to dislike but now I think they give some really great things.

I will definitely check your blog out.
