Hi makeup junkies! So one of the biggest trends for this Summer is the color Orange. It's literally popping up everywhere from fashion to makeup, and while a lot of people would panic at the thought of wearing orange makeup, I wanted to show you a wearable way to add orange into your makeup routine. Orange shadows are some of my all-time favorites to work with, I find that they work great on most eye and skin colors and does wonders to brighten and warm up the face. For this look, I decided to show you one of my favorite version of a smokey eye. I used a shimmery copper/orange shadow on the lid with some matte warm browns and oranges in the crease to create an overall warm halo effect around the eyes. To keep with the warm orange theme, I also used an orange blush and lip gloss to tie everything together. I find that this look really compliments blue and brown eyes, but it will look great on every eye color. I also find this look works well with most skin tones, however if you're super cool toned you may want go easy on the orange shadows and only use the warm browns so it doesn't overpower your skin tone too much. I have pretty cool undertones in my skin and I'm also relatively fair so I find that orange works great for me, because it not only compliments my eye color but helps bring some warmth into my skin as well. I decided to do a picture tutorial for the eyes, so you could see exactly where I applied everything. So if you want to know how I got this gorgeous orange smokey eye and orange lips, just keep reading!!
How To: EYES
Step 1
-Apply your favorite primer/base all over your lid and lower lash line. Since this is a smokey look, I decided to do my foundation after my eyes were done.
Step 2
-Highlight under the brow with a matte cream shadow. Then, blend a light, matte peach shadow into your upper crease to act as your blending shade. I used Makeup Geek's (MUG) "Peach Smoothie" as my blending shadow.
Step 3
-Take a light/medium matte orange shadow and blend it into your crease right over the top of your blending shade. This shadow is what's going to help create the soft orange "halo" effect around the eyes. I used my favorite matte orange shadow, which is MUG's "Chickadee".
Step 4
-Take a matte, burnt orange shadow and blend it into your crease, as well. Like I've said before, when I do a smokey eye I like to use multiple matte shadows to really create depth and dimension. It also helps you to get that blended, blown out effect. I used Kat Von D's "Cleopatra" from her Ladybird palette- it's a gorgeous burnt orange!
Step 5
-Apply a shimmery orange or copper shadow onto the lid, leaving the very outer corner blank. I used NYX's loose pearl eyeshadow in "Orange".
Step 6
-Blend a medium/deep matte, warm brown shadow into your crease blending it up into the previous crease shades and the outer corner of your eye. You want to take a clean blending brush, to blend over your crease so there are no harsh lines. I used my all-time favorite MUG shadow in "Cocoa Bear", which is a warm, orange/brown.
Step 7
-Take a slightly deeper matte, warm brown on a small blending brush and blend it right into your socket and outer corner. I used "Wolf" from the Kat Von D Ladybird palette.
Step 8
-Take a light shimmery gold and apply it right to the center of your eyelid. This will add more dimension and help to open your eye, creating a more rounded effect. I mixed together TheBalm's Overshadows in "No Money, No Honey", which is a light gold, and "You Buy, I'll Fly", which is a shimmery copper. By mixing those 2 it just created a light shimmery copper, but you can just use a pale gold.
Step 9
-Apply a brown liquid liner to the upper lid, winging it out at the outer corner. You can make your wing as big or small as you like. I also used a shimmery brown liner in the inner rims of my eyes, then I smudged the same liner underneath the lower lash line.
Step 10
-Blend out the liner on the lower lash line with one of your dark shadows. I used "Wolf".
Step 11
-Blend out your lower lash line further with your light peach shadow.
Step 12
-Blend a pale shimmery gold shadow around the tear ducts to brighten up the eyes. I used TheBalm's "No Money, No Honey" loose shadow.
Step 13
-Curl your lashes and apply a few coats of mascara to your top and bottom lashes. Then, apply your favorite pair of falsies to complete the look! As an afterthought, I applied a little bit of a copper glitter right under my eyeliner wing just to add a little more drama.
Completed Look:

-For the lips, I applied a layer of Whitening Lightning's Color Your Smile lighted lip gloss in "Salmon", which is a beautiful tangerine gloss.
