Museum Bronze - FOTD - Old Gold Eyes & Bright Pink Lips

Good morning (or evening) gorgeous makeup junkies! I wanted to pop on here real quick to share the look I wore to my Great Aunt's birthday party. It was a very casual family affair, so I stuck to using neutral shades on the lid and then added some super bright lips for a fun pop. For the eyes I used one of my fave MAC pigments "Museum Bronze", which is a gorgeous antique golden/bronze shadow that really brings out the warmth in my brown eyes. However, this color will look gorgeous on any eye or skin tone, because while it is a golden color, it has a more neutral undertone to it. Besides the pigment, I just used some neutral matte browns in the crease and lower lash line to create a soft smokey-eye effect. While the eyes are super gorgeous on their own, the star of this look is, of course, those amazing hot pink lips! I used the new LE "Happy-Go-Lucky" lipstick from MAC, which is a super bright, almost neon, pink lipstick with a creamy amplified finish. This look is perfect for the Spring/Summer season and works for literally almost any occasion; you can make it more dramatic by adding a pair of falsies or less dramatic by changing the lip and/or taking away the black liner. I'm always a huge fan of wearing gold and pink during the warm months, there's just something about those colors mixed with a tan and sunshine- BEAUTIFUL!! So if you're interested in hearing how I got this look, just keep reading; and don't forget to follow me on Instagram (talesofamakeupjunkie) and leave a comment below with any requests or thoughts!

How To: EYES
-Fill in your brows as you normally would.
-Apply your favorite primer/base all over your lids and underneath the lower lash line. Using an eye primer will not only help keep your eye shadows on and crease-free, but will also help your shadows to apply and stay more vibrant and bright.
-Highlight under your brow with a matte cream shadow. Then blend a light matte brown shadow into your upper crease, making sure it blends seamlessly up into your brow highlight; this will act as your blending/transition color.
-Blend a slightly darker matte brown shadow into the crease, making sure to blend it into your transition shade. When I do a smokey eye, I like to layer my crease shades to create a more multidimensional and blended out look.
-Blend a matte, medium warm toned brown shadow lightly over your crease shadows to warm it up a little bit and help blend out the shades further.
-Using a flat shader brush, apply an antique or old gold shadow or pigment all over your lid- from inner to outer corner. Bring this shadow right up to the crease, but don't blend it into the crease.
-Take a deep matte brown shadow on a small blending brush, and blend this right into your socket line lightly. I didn't want this look to become to dark and heavy, so I only used a small amount of the dark shadow then I made sure to blend it out with a clean fluffy brush.
-Apply some black liquid (or gel) liner to your upper lash line, winging it out at the outer edges. You can make your wing as dramatic or small as you want. Rim your entire eye with a black kohl liner, as well.
-Blend the medium brown shadow underneath the lower lash line, running it from inner to outer corner. Blend that shadow out with one of the lighter shadows, to create a soft blown out effect under the eye.
-Highlight around the tear ducts with a bright, pale gold shadow. This will help brighten and open up your eyes.
-Curl your lashes and apply lots of black mascara to the top and bottom lashes. I didn't want to wear false lashes, so I really layered on the mascara to make them look as thick as possible.

How To: FACE & LIPS
-Apply a smoothing primer all over your face to smooth over any pores and fill in any lines.
-Buff a matte finish foundation all over your face, blending down to your neck. I usually don't go for a super matte face, but for this look I did and I have to say I really like it. I used the Rimmel Stay Matte mousse foundation and I loved how it applied, looked, and lasted.
-Add your favorite concealer under your eyes and onto any redness or blemishes you want to cover.
-Set your foundation and concealer with a powder, this will help take down any shine and help your foundation last longer.
-Blend a light, matte bronzer around the outer edges of your face and to your cheekbones to help warm up your skin tone.
-Using a darker matte bronzer, contour under your cheekbones to really help them stand out.
-Blend a peach blush onto your cheek bones, then highlight them with a golden highlighting powder.
-Line your lips with either a matching pink lip liner, or use a clear liner like I did to help lock your lipstick in place and help keep it from feathering and bleeding.
-Then apply a bright pink lipstick to your lips to finish the look.
