Plum and Orange Autumn Smoky Eye: Makeup Tutorial feat. the Kat Von D Ladybird palette (Thanksgiving look #2)

Hey guys! I wanted to share with you all my second look in my Thanksgiving make-up ideas mini series. Today's look is a colorful smoky eye using the Kat Von D Ladybird palette. I wanted to create a smoky eye using color, but that is still wearable and this palette is absolutely perfect for that. I love the way the plum lid blends up into a burnt orange crease. The colors are so quintessentially Autumn and will wow anyone at your Thanksgiving feast. I also wanted to use this palette, because I just heard that Kat Von D is discontinuing this palette soon and I wanted you all to see how pretty it is so you can get it before it's gone for good. I hope ya'll enjoy this look, so just keep reading to see a full picture tutorial on how to achieve this look for yourself!

Step 1- Prime Lids
^Apply primer all over your lid, up to the brow and underneath the lower lash line. Then apply a nude base all over your lids to cancel out any redness or veining.

Step 2- Brow Highlight
^Apply a matte or sating cream shadow underneath the brow to highlight.

Step 3- Transition/Blending Shade
^Blend a matte peach shadow into the upper crease to act as your transition/blending shade. This will allow there to be a smoother transition from the brow highlight and the deeper crease colors to come. I used Makeup Geek's "Peach Smoothie" shadow.

Step 4- Lid Color
^Pat a matte plum colored shadow all over the lid up to the crease. I used "Fur Elise" from the Kat Von D Ladybird palette.

Step 5- Crease
^On a fluffy blending brush blend a matte burnt orange shadow into the crease. You want to keep the shape of the this look very rounded, so don't wing out your crease. This shadow is "Cleopatra" from the Ladybird palette.

Step 6- Crease
^On a small blend brush, blend a deep orange-based brown shadow right into your socket line. Take a clean blending brush, to blend out the harsh edges between the crease shades. You want the crease to look quite blended and soft, but still be able to see the gradient between colors. I used "Wolf" from the Ladybird palette.

Step 7- Touch Up
^You may have blended away some of your lid color, or too much of the orange in your crease so go back and touch up anything you feels needs it. I touched up steps 4-6.

Step 8- Liner
^Apply black gel liner to the lid and also tightline your eyes with it. You do not want to draw a wing on your liner, again to keep with the rounded shape. You also want to line your lower waterline with a plum eyeliner.

Step 9- Lower Lashline
^Blend the orange shadow underneath the lower lash line. You want to bring this shadow pretty low down and connect it up with your lid. Then you want to blend the plum shadow close to the lashes. You only want to bring this color half way in.

Step 10- Tear Duct Highlight
^Apply a very shimmery light gold around the tear ducts to brighten up your eyes.

Step 11- Lashes
^Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes. You can use false lashes if you want to. I used the Too Faced Better than False Lashes lash extension kit and I have to say, I'm very happy with the results.

Step 12- Glitter
^Apply a copper glitter along the inner corner of the lower lash line to add an extra pop to the look.

A touch of highlighter on the high points of the face, then used a peach nude lipstick on my lips to complete the look.
