Birchbox Un-boxing: November 2013 "More Good"

Hey guys! I wanted to pop on here real quick, so I could share with you what I received in my November Birchbox. For those of you who may not know what Birchbox is, it's basically a monthly beauty subscription box service that costs $10 per month and provides you with 4-5 deluxe to full size beauty samples. I've been a long time subscriber to Birchbox and look forward to receiving it in the mail each month. 

This month's theme was "More Good" and Birchbox says, "As any Thanksgiving feast can attest, this is not the time for holding back. Rather, this month-and the entire holiday season-is about abundance in all forms. More thanks, more giving, more thoughtfulness, more samples, and of course more pumpkin pie and stuffing." What's super amazing about this month, as well, is that Birchbox will be donating a portion of all sales from the Birchbox Shop to No Kid Hungry, a nationwide organization that works to end childhood hunger. This month's box came with four deluxe beauty samples, three single tea bags, and a Holiday gift guide catalog.

^Mighty Leaf Tea tea pouches - Full-size $9.95

WHAT: Handpicked blend of organic tea leaves, dried fruits, and spices in a biodegradable pouch.

HOW: Steep tea of choice in hot water using the directions on the satchel.

-This little packet came with three single packs of tea- Green Tea Tropical, Vanilla Bean, and Organic African Nectar. It has a mix of green, black, and herbal teas with a mix of caffeine levels. I will probably only be able to drink one, because I can't have the one's with caffeine so I'll just give the rest to my mother-in-law.

^Bee Kind body lotion - Full Size $15

WHAT: Made with organic chamomile, this yummy UK fave sinks in to restore skin.

HOW: Massage generously into skin.

-This is a decent lotion. It has a thin consistency, but it's moisturizing and has a nice lemon scent to it. I love that is is organic and that it absorbed quickly and wasn't greasy. This will be perfect to throw in my purse to use on the go.

^Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner - Full Size $16

WHAT: Direct from the UK, this user-friendly liquid liner features a velvety smooth formula.

HOW: Trace your upper lashline, or try your hand at a cat-eye.

-I was so excited to see a mini size of this eyeliner in my box. I have been wanting to try this for a long time now, but couldn't make myself pay the $16, when my Maybelline one works just fine and is half the price. However, since I tried this liner today I will be purchasing the full size as soon as I'm done with the sample because it is amazing. The formula glides on so smooth and the color is ultra black. I also really love the felt tip it has and the fact that it's a pen makes it so easy to draw the perfect cat eye.

WHAT: This customer fave mimics effects of microdermabrasion for a glowing, smooth complexion.

HOW: 3-5 times a week, massage a pea-sized amount into damp skin and rinse. For all skin types.

-I'm excited to try this exfoliant. It's paraben free, sulfate free, and 99% natural. It contains papaya enzymes, panthenol, aloe, and coconut, and I am an exfoliant addict and love to try out new ones. I'm going to test this one out tonight and I'm hoping it works well and doesn't break my face out. 

^Color Club On The Rocks nail color - Full Size $16

WHAT: From the new Cocktail Hour Collection, this shimmering shade gives nails a gorgeous glint.

HOW: Use two coats for a gleaming finish.

-I was so excited when I opened the little box and saw this nail polish. For one thing I have been looking for the perfect flat silver nail polish, and by flat I mean it has no shimmer, and also because I have been dying to try out some Color Club nail polish. I instantly took my polish off my nails and through it on super quick. I was really surprised when it went on super opaque in one coat.

Overall I'm happy with this month's box. I wish it would've had more makeup in it, but that's just because I am a makeup addict and always want more. I can't wait to see what Birchbox does for their December box next month, so stay tuned for that!
