Review: Covergirl Clean Whipped Creme foundation

Claims: "Our lightweight whipped crème foundation gives your skin a boost of moisture without the greasy, shiny finish. You’ll love the dreamy, 100% breathable formula that leaves your skin looking smooth, natural, and matte. Available in 10 shades to match your skin tone.

I have this foundation in shade 305 ivory (I bought this pre-vacation tan). The jar contains 18mL (0.6 FL OZ Liq.) which is almost half less of a normal bottle of foundation and sells for $6.99 at Target so for the price I'm not too upset about the lesser product. My skin type is dry/combination and I feel like this product can work well for dry to slightly oily skin but super dry and oily skins may have a bit of a problem. I find that the coverage is medium to full depending on how you build it up and blend it in and also how you apply it. It also does not contain an SPF, so you will have to apply a seperate SPF into your routine.

(After the foundation was blended in)

(After I set it with MAC MSFnatural)

I have tried a couple different ways of applying this foundation and I have found that using the Sigma F84 angled kabuki brush works the best. Actually any kabuki style works pretty well because this foundation looks best when it is buffed into the skin. The first time I ever tried this foundation I used a damp BeautyBlender (my #1 way to apply foundation) sponge and it caused it to look very splotchy, patchy, and just all together not good. It also sheered the coverage out, but that was the last of my concerns at the time. I washed the foundation off immediately and it sat in the drawer for a couple weeks before I made myself play around with it some more.

The finish of this foundation is more of a satin to demi-matte finish than matte. It's not super glow-y but does give the illusion of natural skin more so than a matte foundation would. I do feel like I have to set this foundation with a powder, because I feel like it would slide right off in the Louisiana heat and humidity, however without powder it does dry down to a nice slightly matte finish that would work for tose of you who don't prefer adding powder to the top of your foundations.

This foundation lasts around 6 hours before it starts to wear off in places. I do have to set my face with powder because the Summer humidity is ridiculous in the South, so if I didn't it would melt off my face the second I went outside.

I have to say over all I like this foundation. It's not the greatest foundation I have ever used but it offers flawless coverage and the price is great. I do, however, wish you got the full 1.0 Fl OZ. of foundation that you normally get. I also have to say that this foundation sits much nicer on my skin that the Revlon whipped foundation which I just could never get to work for me. I also don't like that this foundation contains parabens, so if that is a concern of yours then you may want to stay away from this foundation.
