Hey everyone! How are ya'll doing today? I decided to upload some pictures of what I wore on my eyes and face today. I didn't really have anything planned for today, other than returning some crappy makeup products (I'm thinking of doing a post on this even though I returned them already because they were just horrible), going to get my glasses tightened, and grocery shopping. Super fun day, right? HA!
So applying makeup for me is therapy, it's what I do to relax and make myself happy. I get such a "high" from doing makeup, on me or anyone else, so I rarely don't have at least a full on eye makeup look. I bought a few of the Estee Lauder pure color gelee powder eyeshadows a few months ago and I seriously love them, so today I decided to use the "Cyber Ruby" shade, which is a gorgeous shimmery burgundy color. All the eyeshadows in this line are super pigmented and highly metallic, did I say I seriously love them? I decided to smoke out the look using some colors from the original Naked palette to make the look slightly more "sultry". I've never been a believer in saving smokey eyes for only special occasions or night time. I feel like they, or any other makeup look for that matter, should be worn with confidence whenever the hell you want. Anyways, back to the look, I've been loving to use whatever main color I'm using on the lid's complimentary color in the inner corner or somewhere else in the look. So I used a medium forest green in the inner corners and tearducts just to add a little pop to the eyes, foregoing the usual light shimmery color as an inner corner highlight. Now normally red and green remind me way too much of Christmas time, but I feel like because they're both darker, more understated versions of the colors it totally works.

I really loved the way this look came together. I've been forcing myself out of the comfort zone I had gotten myself into for the last year or so of pretty much only wearing neutral shades and eyeliner. I have absolutely been loving wearing fun colors and mixing up the combinations of colors I would normally wear. I feel like Summer is the greatest time to experiment with color, even though some would disagree, because I feel like the colors outside are so gorgeous how could you not just totally be inspired? Even though I feel like this eye look would be better suited for Autumn or Winter, I'm rocking it right now and I love it!
