You Are My Sunshine: Neutral Eyes With A Fun Pop of Yellow - Makeup How-To!

Hello all my beautiful makeup junkies! I wanted to pop on here to do a quick picture how-to on this super simple neutral eye look with a fun pop of sunny yellow. This look is the perfect Spring accessory, it's super easy to get and it really amps up any look you have going on; and the awesome thing is that you can literally add any color you want into the inner corner to make it match whatever you're wearing. This how-to is a little different than how I normally do them, I used pictures, as well as words to help you guys see what I'm doing. Please let me know if this way is easier for you to understand, or if you have any suggestions for me please leave a comment down below. I want to help you guys out, so your comments do help. I really hope that by Summer I will be making video tutorials as well, I'm just waiting on a new camera and some new editing software. Anyways, I take you step-by-step through the entire eye look, but I didn't show you what I did on my face since it would've made this post super long. So basically I wanted to keep my skin pretty simple and easy, since the eyes were the main focus. I used a light BB cream all over my face, then added some concealer, a little powder, and bronzer to finish everything off. I used the Whitening Lightning "Nude" lip gloss, which has become my go-to easy lip. It adds a gorgeous nude shine to the lips, but isn't sticky or annoying. I'm super happy with how this look came out, the colors are just so sunny and fun- perfect for the warm weather!

If you want to know how to get this look, just keep reading!

How To: EYES

Step 1: Prime
-To begin the eyes, apply your favorite eye primer all over the lids and underneath the lower lash line. Then, apply a nude base to your lids; this will cover any veins or redness, so that you have a totally blank canvas to work from.

Step 2: Brow Highlight & Transition
-Apply a matte cream shadow underneath your brow bone to highlight and lift the eye, then blend a light matte brown shadow into the upper crease to act as your blending/transition shade. For the browns, I used shadows that had a golden/yellow undertone to them so that they would play into the bright yellow we'll use later.

Step 3: Lid
-Apply the same matte cream shadow you used under the brow, and apply it to your entire lid. You totally could have added this color all over the lid during step 1, but I forgot. =)

Step 4: Crease
-On a tapered blending brush, take a medium/deep matte brown shade and blend it into your crease and down into the inner corner. Make sure you blend out the edges of this shadow, so that it blends out evenly and smoothly into the other shades,

Step 5: Liquid Liner
-Using a black liquid liner, draw a medium thick line, making sure to wing it out at the edges. You can make your wing as big or small as you like.

Step 6: Lower Lash Line
-Apply the deeper brown shadow underneath the lower lash line, running it from inner to outer corner. Blend it out with your transition shade.

Step 7: Tear Ducts
-Apply a matte, bright yellow shadow around your tear ducts, making sure to blend it slightly into the inner corners of your upper and lower lids. This will make sure you don't have any weird breaks between the colors, and everything blends nicely.

Step 8: Mascara & Eyeliner
-Tightline your eyes with a black kohl pencil, then line your lower waterline with a nude liner to keep your eyes bright. Then, curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
