Hello my beautiful makeup junkies! My look today was created using all the products I received in my April IPSY bag, plus some of my old favorites, like the UD NAKED palette. I wanted to make sure I used every product I got, that way I could give you accurate thoughts on each; I will have my little reviews of the products at the end of the post. Overall, I have to say that everything performed pretty well and I may have just found some new favorites to add to my collection.
Back to the look; I wanted to create a sultry golden smokey eye that you could wear day or night (just don't wear falsies), simple sun-kissed skin, and of course I had to use that AMAZING hot pink lip balm that was included in my bag. I really love how the golds on the eye really play up the bright pink lips, a color combo that really makes me think of Summer (even though it was 45 degrees outside today- seriously Louisiana 45!). I'm super happy with how this look came together and I really hope you all like it as well. I stuck with doing a written how-to this time, just because this look was all over the place for me lol. Leave me a comment below with any thoughts or requests you may have, and just keep reading to see how to get this look and what I thought of my IPSY products!
How To: EYES
-Apply your favorite primer all over your lids and lower lash line, then add a gold base to your lids and around the tear ducts. I used the City Color "White Gold" highlighting mousse and shadow I got in my IPSY bag as a base.
-Highlight under your brow with a matte cream shadow (I used my face powder).
-Blend the shade "Naked", from the original UD NAKED palette, into your crease blending upwards toward your brow. This will act as your blending/transition shade.
-Apply the shade "Buck" into your crease as well, keeping it right below your transition shade. Blend well so there are no harsh lines.
-Apply "Half Baked" all over your lid and bring it up into your inner corners also. You want to bring this shadow right up to the crease. Leave your outer "V" free of color.
-On a smaller blending brush, blend "Darkhorse" right into your socket and down into your outer corner. Make sure you're blending between each step. With any good smokey eye, whether a day or night version, blending is key. It will not only create a softer, more blown out effect but it will also help things from getting to intense. Just make sure when blending darker colors, you blend side to side or in small circular motions so that you don't bring the shadow up to high.
-On that same smaller blending brush, mix a little of "Creep" with "Darkhorse" and just deepen up your crease and outer "V" a little more.
-Using the "White Gold" mousse, I applied a little right to the center of my lid to create a subtle highlight. This will help add dimension and make the eye look a little larger.
-Run the UD 24/7 Velvet Glide On Pencil in "Black Velvet" along the upper lash line. Then smudge it out with a little of "Creep". I love the way smudged liner looks with a smokey eye, it just adds to the sexy effect. You also want to completely rim your eyes with this pencil, as well as run it under your lower lash line.
-Smudge out that liner with "Darkhorse", then blend it out with "Buck".
-Apply a pale, shimmery gold around the tear ducts to really help brighten the eyes.
-Add a little bit of a gold or copper glitter into the inner corner of your lower lash line to add a fun pop.
-Curl your lashes and apply mascara. Add a pair of falsies to really help amp up the look.

How To: FACE, BROWS, & LIPS
-Apply your favorite foundation primer all over your face to help smooth out the skin and help your foundation last all night.
-Using a damp sponge, apply a medium/full coverage foundation all over your face. Since the eyes are more smokey, you want to balance that out by having your skin look flawless (or as flawless as we can).
-Add concealer under your eyes and onto any redness or blemishes.
-Before applying any powder, I added a couple dots of Benefit's Lollitint onto the apples of my cheeks to create a natural flush.
-Set your concealer, then add a translucent powder down the center of your face to keep you from getting shiny.
-Add a natural-looking bronzer under your cheekbones and around the outer perimeters of your face. This will help warm up the skin and help sculpt it out. Make sure you blend out your bronzer so it doesn't look harsh.
-I added some of the "White Gold" mousse to the tops of my cheekbones and down the center of my nose, to act as a base for my highlighting powder.
-Apply NARS "Albatross" highlighting powder right on top of where you applied that mousse.
-Fill in your brows, giving them definition but still keeping them soft.
-Add some brow gel to help tame those bad boys!
-Using the lip brush included, I applied Cailyn's tinted lip balm all over my lips, completely filling it in.
-Then I added a little bit of Lollitint to the center of the lips, blending it outwards, to add a touch of purple to the color.
Overall Thoughts
-Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm "Acid Pink"- I am absolutely in love with this product. I still don't know why they call it a "tinted lip balm", because this product doesn't feel like a balm or go on like one. It has amazing full coverage and it dries down to a satin/matte finish.
-City Color "White Gold" Shadow & Highlighting mousse- I'm still trying to figure out if I really like this product, because I am not a big fan of most mousse products. It has a nice whipped texture and the color is a pretty pale gold color, but I didn't find that it highlighted my face all that well (probably b/c I'm so pale). I did like this color as an eyeshadow base and that's most likely how I'll be using.
-KISS Looks So Natural false lashes "Flirty"- The lashes are awesome! They have a nice thin, flexible band and the actual lashes are so light and feathery. I love that the style I received was so long and wispy, I just love how they look and will be looking into buying more of these for sure!
-Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide On eye pencil "Black Velvet"- This is a very nice pencil to have if you love that smudged out liner effect. I found that it smudged out beautifully, creating a soft halo effect but you can definitely apply this on your waterlines and it lasts all day. I love how black this pencil goes on and the fact that it stayed intense for hours.
-Benefit Lollitint- This is now, by far, my favorite "tint" Benefit has came out with. I find that Lollitint is a little thicker of a formula and has more color pay off. On the cheeks, it gave a gorgeous natural pink flush that I found so youthful and pretty. Then on the lips, it gave a natural light berry tone. I will for sure be purchasing the full size of this as soon as possible!
