I've been using this mascara for a little over a month and I just knew I had to do a review on it, because honestly this is the BEST mascara I have used in a long time. I bought this mascara in the blackest black color and it definitely makes your lashes an inky black color.
So to start off with Revlon claims that this is a "volume and length mascara. The formula with strengthening proteins, amino acids and essential vitamins, revitalizes lashes. The Illusionist Wand drenches lashes lashes for dramatic volume and combs through lashes for clump-free length. Magically transforms lashes to lush, long, and lustrous."
These are my lashes with absolutely nothing on them
These are after 2 coats of mascara:
I have to say I completely agree with Revlon's claims of what this mascara does. The formula is a wetter formula and it just glides over the lashes to add length and volume. I have this mascara in the regular/non waterproof formula and I have had no issues with smudging or flaking under or around my eyes. The one slightly negative thing I have to say is that if you're going to apply more than 1 coat do them immediately after you apply the first as it can start to stick together in places if you wait too long. My best piece of advice it to work on one eye at a time and it looks absolutely gorgeous. This mascara also layers beautifully with other mascaras. My 2 fave combos right now are the lash potion with Loreal voluminous carbon black over the top and the lash potion mixed with Loreal black lacquer false fiber mascara (looong name). Both are a drier formula and layer perfect by adding even more volume and length.
As for the claims of it strengthening and revitalizing lashes I have to say I may actually believe them. Even though this mascara is part of their "grow luscious" line, they don't say anywhere on the packaging that it grows your lashes. However, the claims do say it strengthens lashes and I do believe that the mascara has conditioned my lashes causing me to experience less lash fall out. I can tell when using a lash curler that they are stronger and hold up way better than they had before.
I'm not saying everyone will experience the same results as me, but I do think this mascara is definitely worth giving a shot. The mascara comes in a black, blackest black, blackened brown, and a waterproof version of the blackest black and blackened brown shade.
