Hello beautiful makeup junkies! I am so excited to share today's look with you, not only because I used mostly affordable makeup, but also because I'm just in love with how beautiful the turquoise shades look on the eyes and the nude lips really help my lips look extra pouty and sultry; which is always an amazing thing! I had originally planned on posting a look using my Starbox products, but my NYX order came in from Hautelook and I couldn't pass up playing around with the pigments I bought- especially the bright turquoise and the pretty charcoal shades. These eyes remind me of a mermaid tail, with all it's shimmering blue sparkles. I wanted the eyes to be the center of attention, so I kept the rest of the face very simple and added some sexy nude lips to pull everything together. I forgot to take individual pictures of my eyes for a how-to, so I'm just going to write out all the steps for you this time, just so ya'll can know what I did and I will make sure to take pictures next time for you. Anyways, just keep reading to see how to get this look for yourself and don't forget to follow me on Instagram to see more looks and updates from me- talesofamakeupjunkie
How To: EYES
-Fill in your brows like you always do.
-Start the eye look off by applying your favorite eye primer all over the lids and underneath the lower lash line. You can also add a piece of tape at the outer edges to create a sharp edge, or just use some makeup remover to clean up the edges when you're finished. You want the eyes to have a sharp, extended shape to it; this will help your eyes look more feline and sultry.
-Apply a matte cream shadow under your brow to highlight.
-Blend a light, matte brown shadow into your crease, blending up and outwards to act as your blending/transition shade.
-Take a light, shimmery turquoise shadow and apply it to the inner half of your lids and lower lash line.
-Then take a shimmery charcoal shadow and apply it to the outer half of your lid and lower lash line, making sure to blend the line between the 2 shadows so there are no harsh lines. You want to make sure that you use a charcoal shadow that has a blue undertone to it, so that it works with the turquoise shadow.
-Using a black gel liner (or liquid), line your upper lash line; winging it out a little at the outer edges. Then rim your eyes with a black liner.
-I applied Sugarpill's "Lumi" loose shadow around the tear ducts and a little to the center of my lower lash line to really make my eyes pop. "Lumi" is a translucent shadow with teal and turquoise reflects to it. I haven't found a dupe for this shade, so if you don't have Lumi just use a shimmery blue shadow that is lighter than your lid shade.
-Curl your lashes and apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Add a pair of false lashes to amp up the eyes further.

How To: FACE & LIPS
-Apply a pore smoothing primer to your face, to smooth out the skin and prep it for foundation.
-Buff a medium-full coverage foundation all over your face, then add concealer under your eyes and to any redness or blemishes still showing through.
-Set your concealer with a light toned powder, then set the rest of your face with a powder that matches your skin tone. You can use a loose translucent powder all over your face if your prepare.
-Apply a matte bronzer under your cheek bones and sides of the temples to help warm up your skin tone and shape your face. I also contoured my nose and jaw bone as well.
-Apply a shimmery highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and your cupid's bow to help brighten up your face.
-Line and fill in your lips with a rosy/nude lip liner, then apply a light nude lipstick to the center of your lips and blend it out. You want to create a subtle ombre lip, so you may want to go back with the lip liner to re-define the outer corners of your lip.
-Then add a nude lip gloss to the center of your lips. By doing these steps with your lips, it will create the illusion of a fuller pout; which is something most of want.
-Set all of your makeup with a makeup setting spray to keep everything in place all night.
