FOTD: Timeless Blue - Soft Cut Crease and Red Lips

Hi makeup junkies! I wanted to jump on here real quick, so I could share my makeup of the day with you. Today I wanted to do a colorful twist on a pin up look, so I used a pretty metallic blue shadow on the lids and added some matte browns to the crease to create a soft cut crease effect. I applied some black gel liner to the lid, then smudged it out to create a soft line. To complete the eyes I added some wispy lashes and black liner to the waterlines. To add a little more drama and fun to the eyes, I applied a little bit of the blue shadow right to the center of my lower waterline. To keep with the pin up vibe I of course wanted to do a red lip, so I applied MAC's "Ruby Woo" lipstick all over my lips then applied a slightly deeper red lip liner around the outer edges of my lips to create a slight ombre effect. I kept the rest of my skin very flawless and bronzed, so that the eyes and lips could be the focus. 

I know a lot of people are afraid to do bold lips and eyes, but it can be super pretty and make a bold statement. A couple tips I have to keep yourself from looking clownish are to use colors that compliment each other, mix in neutral shades to help soften the look, and try to stick to as few colors as you can  so there isn't too much competition. Other than that just have fun, you're never going to know what works on you until you try it on!
