Unboxing: Birchbox December- "Sparkle and Shine" Holiday 2013

Hey guys! I wanted to jump on here real quick, so I could share with ya'll what I got in my December Birchbox. For those of you who still don't know what Birchbox is, it's a $10/month beauty subscription service. You fill out a profile and then are sent 4-5 deluxe samples (sometimes full size-rarely) that best fit your answers. You can also gain points on their site and use those points toward their shop. This month is their Holiday 2013 box and the theme is "Sparkle and Shine". I always get excited for these subscription service's holiday boxes, because they're usually pretty amazing, but I have to say I wasn't very impressed with this month's box at all. I did receive a couple things that I like and while I'm not overly thrilled, I'm happy to have a few small products to throw in my purse to get me through the holidays. I plan on giving Birchbox one more month to impress me, or I'm canceling my subscription. Keep reading to see what I got in my box:

Secret Agent Beauty Nourishing & Plumping lip gloss- Foreign Intelligence Flirt
^Full Size- $14
WHAT: Shimmery formula that plumps with sacha inchi oil, peppermint oil extract, and menthol
HOW: Wear on it's own, or layer over a lipstick. The slight tingling sensation means it's working.
-The lip gloss is a sample size, but you still get a decent amount. I love the color, which is a mauve/rose with a slight shimmer. I found that it did plump up my lips a little bit, but it didn't tingle, it just has a cold feeling on the lips so it's not uncomfortable. I really like this lip gloss, but I wish it had a different applicator. Instead of a wand it's just a little squeezy tube, so either you have to use a brush or your fingers which is a little messy. Either way I love the shade and the size is perfect for my makeup bag.

Number 4 Non Aerosol Hairspray
^Full Size- $30
WHAT: Earth-friendly, botanical-rich spray that gives you flexible hold (read: no crunchiness).
HOW: Spritz daily to keep final style in place, or apply during styling for texture.
-This little hairspray has gone straight into my purse! It's small size is perfect to carry around with me and I love that it's non aerosol and also non crunchy. It has a light hold and smells nice. Definitely perfect to have in your bag so you can touch up your hair in a pinch!

Camille Beckman Glycerine Hand Therapy- Midnight Monarch Scent
Full Size- $14
WHAT: A nourishing, quick absorbing formula that restores skin without feeling greasy.
HOW: Smooth onto hands whenever they feel dry.
-When I first saw this tiny little pot, I was like seriously this will last me 1-2 times if I'm lucky. However, you only need the smallest amount of this on your hands to fully moisturize them. This is a glycerin based moisturizing cream, so it's not only going to moisturize your skin, but it will help lock the moisture in. Oh and the best part- the smell! The scent of this cream is amazing. It smells so sexy and beautiful, I just love it. I'm seriously debating buying the full size of this soon, but until then, this little pot is sitting right next to my laptop for easy access.

Benta Berry G-1 Exfoliating Facial Cleanser
^Full Size- $16
WHAT: This gentle scrub balances oil levels and brightens skin with ground apricot seeds.
HOW: 2-3 times per week, massage a dime-sized amount into damp skin and rinse.
-I have not, and probably will not use this face wash. I'm so tired of getting face wash every month, I literally have a million little tiny bottles. My skin is super sensitive and breaks out so easily, so I have to be very careful about what I use. Also I'm on an acne system right now and it's working wonders for my skin, so I'm not going to use anything else. Also, this is the teeniest little bottle of face wash I've ever seen- it's literally the size of my pinky!

Emily's Chocolates Milk Chocolate Fortune Cookies
Full Size- $5.99
WHAT: A festive twist on the best part of Chinese takeout- with a creamy milk chocolate coating.
HOW: Break apart for a playful glimpse at your future. After that, you know what to do.
-Well, I devoured this little cookie as soon as I got done taking pictures. It was a yummy little treat and super cute. This was a fun little bonus to throw in, because who doesn't love a little treat every once in a while.

^This was also a cool little bonus they threw in too. Birchbox has a new app where you can track your box, buy products from their shop, and discover new products and special offers from Birchbox. Also, that little black diamond is called a "Digimate", you stick it to the back of your phone and you can un-stick it to clean off your screen, then stick it right back to your phone. It's really neat and actually works!

All in all this month's box wasn't absolutely terrible, but I have to say I did expect a little bit more for a Holiday box. Like I said, I am giving them one more month before I decide to cancel my subscription or not. I did just order the Starlooks "Starbox", which is a monthly makeup subscription service that features all Starlooks makeup. I'm totally excited for that to come in and I also am excited to share with ya'll what I got in this month's IPSY bag as well. I have a fun Christmas inspired look to share with you all tomorrow and will have my IPSY unboxing up soon, so be on the lookout!

If you get Birchbox, let me know what you got in this month's box down below!
