Hi makeup junkies! Since I got the new Urban Decay Electric palette last week, all of the makeup looks I have been doing have been centered around the bright neon shadows in that palette. So today I knew I wanted to do something totally different, something pastel and Spring-like, so I decided to do a look based around the Lime Crime "D'Lilac" lipstick; which is a straight up pastel lilac lip color. For the eyes, I knew I wanted to keep the upper lid more natural and neutral, and then have a fun pop of shimmery lavender underneath the lower lash line. I purchased the Sigma Smoke Screen palette a couple months ago, and it has the most beautiful matte pale lavender shadow that was perfect on the lid and some cool matte brown shades that worked perfect for the crease. On the lower lash line and waterline I used a shimmery purple liner and shadow, which really made the eyes stand out. I kept the rest of the skin very perfected and flawless, and added some matte bronzer, a light pink blush, and just a little bit of highlighter to my cheeks to give me a healthy glow. I didn't want to add too much to my face, so it wouldn't be too much with the lips and eyes.
I am super happy with how this look came out. The pale purple lips and eyes are just so unique and striking, but still soft and perfect for Spring. This look is not for the faint of heart, or for those of you who don't like color. But the great thing is that you don't have to pair the eyes and lips together; pick either one for a gorgeous Spring look. To read step-by-step how to get this eye and face look, just keep reading!
How To: EYES
-Apply your favorite eye primer all over your lids and underneath the lower lash line to prevent your shadows from creasing. Then, add a skin tone or white base to really help your shadows stay vibrant.
-Add a matte cream shadow right under your brow to highlight, then take a light, cool toned brown with a matte finish and buff it into your crease blending up. This is your transition/blending shade.
-On a smaller blending brush, blend a slightly deeper cool toned brown into the crease, making sure to blend it into your transition shade so there are no harsh lines.
-Apply a pale, matte lavender shadow and apply it to the inner 2/3s of the lid and around the tear ducts. If you don't have a pale matte purple, use a matte cream or light pink shadow instead.
-Blend a medium/deep matte brown into your socket and outer corner, making sure to blend it out after you apply it.
-Using a black liquid or gel liner, line your upper lash line, making sure to wing it out at the edges.
-Apply a shimmery lavender eyeliner to your waterlines and all underneath the lower lash line, then smudge it out with a shimmery lavender shadow. If you don't have a shimmery lavender pencil, just use a champagne or white pencil and set it with the shimmery shadow.
-Curl your eyelashes and apply a couple coats of mascara to your top and bottom lashes.
-Fill in your brows like you normally would and set them in place with a brow gel, so that the hairs stay in place all day.

How To: FACE
-Apply a pore smoothing primer to the center of your face and spread outwards, then buff a medium-full coverage foundation to your face, as well.
-Apply concealer under your eyes and to any redness or imperfections you want to hide.
-Apply a highlighting concealer under your eyes and down the center of your face.
-Set everywhere you applied that light concealer with a pale powder (I mix a white and skin tone powder), then set the rest of your face with a powder matching your foundation.
-Apply bronzer to your cheekbones and around the outer edges of your face to help warm up the complexion and also help shape and slim it out.
-Add a little bit of a glowy pink blush to the apples your cheeks, blending out.
-Apply a highlighting powder to the tops of your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and to your cupid's bow.
-Exfoliate your lips to remove any dead skin. I use ELF's lip exfoliator, which is shaped like a lipstick and works amazing!
-Apply a light purple lipstick or lip gloss to your lips to complete the look. If you don't want, or don't have, a light purple lipstick you could use a light pink or nude lipstick instead
