Glossybox Un-boxing: October 2013

I'm so excited to share with all of you what I got in my October 2013 Glossybox. This month's box was a collaboration with Byrdie, which is a go-to website for all things beauty related. I was actually super excited to find out about byrdie.com and immediately went on their site to see what it was all about. It's an awesome website that has everything from makeup, hair, skin, and celebrity tricks and tips to video how-to's. It's just a one stop shop for all your beauty inquiries. So the items in this month's box were chosen by the people at Byrdie and I have to say I think they did a pretty a decent job at the products they chose.

Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au The Vert Eau De Cologne
Full Size $85.00 / 2.5 OZ.
^This was a decent sized deluxe sample- you got .17 fl OZ. in the little glass bottle. The scent is very fresh and slightly citrus-y. It's definitely not my favorite scent (I would have preferred the Au Blanc scent-YUM!), but it is a nice fresh scent that's nice for putting on after a shower.

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream
Full Size $42.00 / 50ML
^I love, love, love this face cream! This size of this sample is actually very large and I already know when it runs out I'm buying the full size. This cream is made with something calledthe "Super 7 Complex" that's proven to provide 24 hours of moisture and help with radiance and anti-aging. I have very dry skin so I have been using this as my daily moisturizer. It just makes my skin feel so smooth, moisturized, and glowing. This cream is just wonderful and I don't want to ever not have it lol.

Balance Me Shine On tinted lip salve in Super Soft Beige
Full Size $16.50 / 10ML
^This is a full sized product, but if you look at mine you can see it's almost half empty and not because I've been using it either- it came like that. This balm is definitely not my favorite. It has an oily texture to it and there isn't really a tint to it either. However, it does have a really nice minty scent to it and it does provide a bit of moisture. I wouldn't wear this out, but it is ok to use when I'm doing my makeup, before I put on my lipstick. I definitely will not be purchasing this when it runs out.

Sesha Renu Exfoliating Gel
Full Size $42.00 / 1.7 OZ
^This is an award winning papaya enzyme gel that non aggressively removes dead skin cells and unclogs your pores. I haven't used this sample yet, but I am really excited to try it out. Because of how dry my skin is I am all about the exfoliating products. I've never tried one like this, it says to use it on dry skin and rub it around util it balls up, then you wash it off and it's supposed to remove the dead skin. It sounds really interesting.

Tarte Lights Camera Flashes mascara in Black
Full Size $23.00 / 0.31 Fl OZ
^So all month Glossybox was teasing pictures of this mascara and letting everyone know that they would be receiving a full size in their box. I was so excited to get this mascara so I could try it out. One of my favorite mascaras of all time is the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara, so I had extremely high hopes for this mascara. The brush is a rubberized wand that they call a "360 volu-flex brush." On one side of the brush the bristles are short and tightly packed and the other side is longer and more loosely packed. This mascara is supposed to give length, curl, and volume, with a super black formula. I found that this mascara is super black and gives length and volume, but I'm not a fan of the brush. I prefer a natural bristle mascara wand because I feel it gives more of a fluttery, volumized look. This wand does give some seperation, but I feel like it slightly clumps my lashes together. I'm going to have to work with this mascara some more, but I feel that it will be much more suited for using as a layering mascara.
