Aphrodite- Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation. There is also an asteroid that was discovered in 1939, which is named after this elusive goddess.
This is my first look featuring colors from the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic baked eyeshadow palette. Out of all the gorgeous colors I knew I wanted to really focus on "Aphrodite", which is a beautiful pinkish burgundy shade. I also recently purchased "Deep Damson", which is a deep matte burgundy shadow, from MAC and I thought it would be perfect to add some extra drama to this look. I have always been very into mythology since I was a very young child and Aphrodite has always been one of my favorite goddesses. Now since she is the goddess of love and sexuality I really wanted to make this look into a sensual, sexy eye look that you would wear on a night out, whether with your significant other or just for yourself so that you can feel ultra sexy. Now you guys all know how much I love my red eyeshadows, so here is another version of how you can wear this sexy, smoldering color that is perfect for Autumn.
How To: EYES
-Start off by applying your favorite eye primer all over the eyelid and down underneath the lower lash line.
-Blend a light to medium matte brown shadow into your crease to act as your blending/transition shade. I used "Taupe" from the Lorac PRO palette.
-Highlight your brow bone with a matte cream shadow. I used "Cream" from the Lorac PRO palette.
-Next I took the shade "Saturn" on a small brush and wet it with a bit of makeup setting spray and applied it onto the inner 1/3 of the eyelid, staying under the crease. "Saturn" is a warm pink champagne shadow.
-Then I took "Aprodite" and applied it onto the rest of the lid, leaving just the very outer corner empty. "Aphrodite" is shimmery burgundy shadow with pink undertones.
-Apply the shade "Mars" right into the outer corner of the eye making sure to blend it into "Aphrodite". "Mars" is a shimmery red based brown.
-On a blending brush take a red based matte brown and blend it into the crease, keeping just below the transition shade. I used "Sable" from the Lorac PRO palette.
-Next, take a small amount of a deep warm matte brown and apply it into your crease, blending into the previous shadow. You want this to look very blended and blown out. I used "Espresso" from the Lorac PRO palette.
-Now take a deep matte burgundy shadow on a small brush and apply it right into your socket line and down into the very outer corner. You want this color to create a softer version of a cut crease. I used "Deep Damnson" from MAC.
-Run "Aprodite" all the way underneath the lower lash line, then apply your matte burgundy right into the outer corner.
-Highlight around your tear ducts with a shimmery light pink shadow. I used "Nude" from the Lorac PRO palette.
-Line your upper lash line with a liquid liner, creating a small wing at the outer corner. Rim your eyes with a black gel liner- you want the liner to be the blackest you have.
-Load up your lashes, top and bottom, with black mascara. False lashes would also be amazing with this look to add more drama.

How To: FACE
-I applied a full coverage, long lasting foundation all over my face. You want your skin to look flawless, because red shadows have the power to make you slightly sick. So when your skin looks wonderful it totally counteracts that.
-Next, I applied a full coverage concealer under my eyes and on any redness or blemishes still showing through. You really want to make sure you use a good coverage concealer under your eye, because again we don't want to look sick or tired.
-I used a lightweight translucent loose powder to set the T-Zone, so that I didn't look oily.
-I used a deeper face powder as my contour and bronzer, because this gives a more natural effect to the skin.
- I took the shimmery bronze shade out of the BH Cosmetics Floral blush duo and used it as my blush.
-Then I took a pink based face highlighter and applied it to the high points of my face to brighten and really perk up my skin.
-I wanted my brows to be natural, yet still have shape. So I used a tinted brow gel and brushed it throughout my brows.
-I really wanted to keep with the reddish-tones on the lips, so I used the Revlon Balm Stain in Crush, which looked so gorgeous with the eyes. If you're uncomfortable having bold eyes and lips a natural nude-pink lip would look just as beautiful.
Well I hope you guys like this look and hopefully some of you will try it out. Remember, these looks are to give you inspiration. Always make looks your own by giving them your own twist and customizing them to look good on you and fit your style. Stay beautiful!!
