"Sunny Side Up" - Eye makeup

Hey babes! I'm so excited to share this makeup look with you guys today! This has been one of my favorite looks I've created recently! I used orange and yellow shadows + the "sandwich" technique I talked about in my last post. I started off by taking around 4-5 different shades of orange (going lightest to darkest) and one by one I blend them into the crease and down into the inner and outer corner to create that "sandwich". Next I took a matte yellow and applied it into the center of my lid. Over top of the yellow, I applied a transparent glitter over top the yellow shadow. To get a similar look to this though, you don't have to use as many shadows as I did, I just like my looks to have a lot of dimension to them. To finish off the look I rimmed my eyes with a black kohl liner and added a pair of whispy false lashes. On the lower lash line, I smoked it out using a couple of the darker orange shades, then blended it all out with the yellow eyeshadows.
*I used all matte shadows on this look*

"Urban Savage" Purple & Teal "Sandwich" Eyes

Hey babes!! I'm so happy to be back blogging again! I needed to take a break for a while, just so I could get my ish together, but now I'm back and so freaking excited to share my looks with you again!
For this look I used the "sandwich" technique, which means you "sandwich" a lighter color in between a darker color. This not only gives great dimension to a look, but also create a rounder/more wide eyed look. I also added a large graphic liner to make the look more dramatic. I paired matching purple lips to complete the look!!

What I Got In My IPSY Glam Bag - Sensationally Sunkissed - July 2014

Hey babes! I'm super excited to share what I got in my July IPSY bag. The theme this month was "Sensationally Sunkissed" and all the products I received are perfect to create a quick and long-lasting Summer look. Before I jump into the actual products, can we all just look at how cute the bag is this month! It's a super neon pink (the pictures do no justice), faux leather, scalloped edge bag of cuteness. I'm super jazzed about this month's bag and the products inside, so if you want to see what I got, keep reading! <3

What IPSY says about this month's bag: Here comes the sun and a Glam Bag full of beauty products so good that even the sun would worship it. There isn't a gray cloud in sight this summer as we give you an amazing selection of brands and products fit to help keep you looking your best during summer's brightest days and warm long nights.

What I Got...

Big Sexy Hair Get Layered flash dry thickening hairspray
Full Size: $17.95
"Get Layered is packed with moisturizing agents that help condition and soften while allowing to layer without product build-up or leaving the hair dry. It has a buildable hold factor for great versatility. Offers a flash drying time and protection from humidity, frizz and damaging UVA/UVB rays."
-I really like this hairspray, especially for Summer. It's super light, dries fast, and gives nice hold with no crunchiness. This little guy is going into my purse right after this post is done!

Pur~Lisse Pur~Protect essential daily moisturizer SPF 30
Full Size: $55.00
"Stay protected with pure flower power. Our unique peptide complex, Lotus Lupine 5, and Hydra-Shield Complex boasts superior full-spectrum sun protection in a light-weight nourishing moisturizer. Skin is pampered and protected against premature aging caused by the day's rays."
-I tried this moisturizer out for the first time today and I really like it. It's light, but super hydrating; so it may not be the greatest for super oily skin, because it does give your skin a sheen. However, for my dry skin it felt super nice and it sank in pretty quickly. I've been a huge fan of the Pur~lisse skin care line for a while now, especially their moisturizers, so I expected good things. I also love that this has a great SPF in it, because it cuts down on products I have to use; and trust me living in the South, you NEED yo SPF!!

WHET Refined Nail Lacquer- Facetious
Full Size: $15.00
"Facetious is defined as playfully jocular or humorous, and that’s exactly how you’ll feel in this flashy shade from wHet Nail Polish. This chip resistant, high shine, vegan polish is "three free" and void of harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, toluene, and dpd (dibutyle phthalate). Plus, it’s exclusively made in the USA, and never tested on animals."
-This polish is visually stunning, I mean look at how gorgeous that royal blue is, but I applied this polish to my toes last night and I just don't like it that much. It makes me sad to say that, because it looks so pretty and I love how eco-friendly the brand is, but for $15 your polish shouldn't go on thin and a little messy because the brush isn't great. Also the color turns to a not as pretty, navy blue. This polish is going to my sister, because I have nice polishes this color that actually show up true to color and look nice on my nails.

Elizabeth Mott Tints & Sass fabulous lip & cheek stain- Cherry
Full Size: $22.99
"All day color that will kick some SASS! That’s right, we said it. Tints & Sass is the only head turning lip and cheek stain that gives you fail proof color every time! The non-drying formula lasts all day, even after a power lunch and yoga session, and was created to accommodate every second of a gal's busy schedule. The gentle and lightweight formula feels like it's barely there, unlike heavy lipsticks and rouges. The soft tipped applicator makes it ridiculously easy to swipe onto lips and the apples of the cheeks, creating a natural yet unforgettably sexy glow. "
-I LOVE this product! I'm a huge fan of that grungy/stained, just bitten, darker in the center type of lip that was big in the 90s; so I am all about this cherry colored lip and cheek stain. As soon as I got this in the mail, I just knew I had to put it on and I love how it looked! Plus it didn't dry my lips out and it lasted for a long time! I probably will only use this on my lips, because with my uber pale skin I don't think I'll like the red color on my cheek.

Bare Minerals 5 In 1 BB advanced performance cream eyeshadow- Divine Wine
Full Size: $18.00
"Meet the next generation in eye shadow: creamy, long-wearing color meets exceptional skincare benefits and broad spectrum SPF protection. Chock-full of skin-loving ingredients, this breakthrough product delivers 5 benefits in one luxurious formula."
Benefits:
12-hour long-wearing color
Supercharged primer
Powerful brightening benefits
Smoothes the appearance of fine lines
Protects with Broad Spectrum SPF 15
-This is honestly one of the best cream shadows I have ever used and I will most definitely be buying the full size in multiple colors. "Divine Wine" is a gorgeous deep, cool toned brown that dries down to a matte finish. It has a cool sponge tip applicator, that allows you to get the color right where you want it. This cream shadow is literally all you need to create a smoky eye. Just apply it close to the lash line and smudge it out. It looks so gorgeous and smooth on the lids. I used this product as a base in an upcoming makeup look and it worked amazing as a primer. My shadows lasted all day, through sweat and heat, and it still looked amazing after like 14 hours. I'm really impressed by this product!

Final Thoughts: Overall, I'm really impressed by this month's products. There was really only one product I didn't like that much (but my sister will love it), but I really love everything else and I know they're all going to become part of daily makeup routine.

What did you get in your July IPSY bag??

Pixie Dust - Metallic Green Cut Crease - Makeup Tutorial - Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow

Hey babes! Sorry it's been so long since I've really posted on here, but if you read my last post then you have a little understanding about what's been going on with me. Anyways, on a much happier note, I have a picture tutorial of this shimmery green cut crease I created today. One of my birthday presents was the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish eye shadow in "Pixie Dust", which is a gorgeous metallic white gold with a green duo-chrome to it and I am OBSESSED with it!! I haven't been wearing makeup as much lately and when I have it has been pretty natural (well natural for me), so today I decided to go all out and do something bright and dramatic! I'm also testing out a new Maybelline foundation, which side note, I'm really liking how it photographed. I'm super jazzed with how this makeup look came together and I really hope you like it too! Again, I just want to apologize for my disappearing act, but I'm so happy to be back! If you want to see how to get this look, just keep on scrolling and I will talk to you soon!! *kisses*

Sunset Eyes - Bright Eyes & Pale Peach Lips -

Hey makeup junkies!! I am so excited to share my version of the "Sunset Eyes" makeup, that I've been seeing all over Instagram and YouTube. I wanted to stick with the normal colors you think of when thinking of a sunset; yellows, pinks, blues and purples. I was really concerned when I first started applying this look, because I'll be honest, I wasn't sure it was going to come together in the end; but seriously I LOVE how it came out in the end. I know it is a super dramatic look, especially with all the colors, but it literally just made my eye color so intense and it just looked really pretty. I've learned that with most colorful looks, it can tend to look a little messy and crazy, but by the time you add liner and lashes it usually looks pretty awesome. My main piece of advice when using so many colors, is to blend, blend, blend and don't be afraid to keep layering the shadows if you feel you blended them too much. It's literally a process of blending, adding color, and blending some more. It just ensures that the colors blend together well and don't look too blocky.

I really hope you guys enjoy looking at this look, as I did creating it. Just keep on scrolling to read how to get this look for yo-self!!

How To: EYES
-Start this look out by applying your favorite eyeshadow primer all over your lids and lower lash line. Apply a piece of tape to the outer edge of your eye, this will help you not only get a sharp outer edge, but will also help keep the bright colors in check.
-Blend a light, matte peach shadow into your upper crease. This will help you blend out the next shade easier, and will also help your crease shades transition to your brow highlight easier. I used "Peach Smoothie" from Makeup Geek
-Blend a neon pink or orange shadow into your crease, making sure to blend it up into your previous shadow. I used the "Neo Orange" pigment from MAC
-Apply a matte yellow shadow to the center of your lid.
-Apply a matte orange to the outer edges of the yellow, this will help it blend into the purple easier and create a really pretty color. I used  Sugarpill's "Butter Cupcake" and "Chickadee" from Makeup Geek
-Blend a matte cream colored shadow underneath the brow to highlight and blend out your crease.
-Take a bright, matte purple and apply it to the outer and inner corner of the lids, then blend it up into the crease, connecting the two. I used Sugarpill's "Poison Plum"
-Make sure you go back in with some of the neon orange to blend out the crease. You're going to want to go back and forth blending and adding color to get the intensity you want.
-Line your upper lid with a black gel liner, winging it out at the outer edges. Then rim your eyes with the same black liner. Add a little bit of a shimmery blue gel liner to the center of your waterline to add a fun pop.
-Run a bright, matte teal shadow underneath the lower lashline, from inner to outer corner. Blend a little bit of a deeper blue to the outer corner.
-Apply a shimmery nude shadow around your tear ducts.
-Curl your lashes and apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes, then add a pair of dramatic falsies to finish off the look.

Film Noir - Classic Matte Smokey Eye & Dark, Vampy Lips featuring the NARS NARSissist eyeshadow palette

Hi makeup junkies! Now I know it's Summer-time and most people are wearing lighter or brighter makeup, but you all know how much I love my smokey eyes and deep lips. So for today's look I really wanted to create a classic smokey eye, using all matte shadows and a dark, vampy lip. I love looks like this, because not only do they look great on everyone, but they also give you a very sexy, yet still classic look. I mainly used the NARS NARSissist palette to create the eye look, which is beautiful neutral palette that I really haven't used that much since I bought it; so I wanted to play around with it a bit. I kept to a mainly cool toned color palette for the eyes, to create a soft but still striking smokey look. I also wanted to have big lashes, so I doubled up some "demi whispies" false lashes to create a wide-eyed fluttery effect. I really love how the falsies made my eyes look and I feel like it really complimented the makeup look. Since the eyes and lips are the main focus, I kept the rest of the skin very flawless but still rather natural looking. This makeup look will work with any skin and eye color and is perfect for a night out, date night, or any other special event you have going on. The other great thing about this look, is that you can pair it with virtually any lip color and it will look good. So if dark lips aren't your thing, choose a color that better suits you. I just can't pass up a chance to wear my "Film Noir" lipstick from MAC, which is a super deep brown/burgundy. I really love how this look came together and I am totally obsessed with layering my falsies from now on (it just gives you such a gorgeous, thick look to your lashes). I really hope ya'll like this look and find it helpful. I may not have another makeup look posted for a few days, because I had to get surgery on my mouth and my whole face is swollen and in pain. So I can't wear any makeup or even smile right now, let alone be able to actually apply makeup to my face. I do, however, have a few unboxings and a couple reviews to get up so you won't be missing me too much lol. So anyways, if you want to see how to get this look for yourself, just keep reading and I'll talk to you later.

Magentric - Bright Purple & Pink "Sandwich" Smokey Eyes with Nude Lips

Happy Saturday makeup junkies! I hope all of you are having an awesome weekend so far! Today's makeup look is a bright pink and purple "sandwich" smokey eye. This type of smokey eye is one of my favorites, because I have pretty round eyes and this type of eye look really accentuates that. This type of smokey eye is also great if you have smaller eyes and want to wear a smokey eye, but are scared of totally closing your eyes off or if you're just looking to make your eyes look rounder and more doll-like. Basically, a "sandwich" smokey eye places the deeper colors at the outer and inner corner and up into the crease, then you apply a lighter color to the center of your lid to make the eyes pop and come forward. I also love this type of eye look, because it creates a lot of dimension on your eyes. For today's look I used bright purple and pinks to create a fun and loud smokey eye, that's perfect for Summer. I used pretty much all Sugarpill products on the eyes, plus a gorgeous hot pink from the UD Electric palette. I really love how this look came together and I hope all of you do too. So if you want to see how to get this look for yourself, just keep on reading!!!

Rihanna Inspired Makeup Look - Smokey Eyes & Nude Lips

Hey makeup junkies! I think by now pretty much everyone has seen Rihanna in all her boob-baring glory at the CFDA awards, but it was her gorgeous makeup that had me interested. I loved her look so much, that I decided to re-create it in my own way. Now, I look absolutely nothing like Rihanna, so my look isn't going to look exactly like hers. I decided to put my own spin on her classic brown and black smokey eye, by making my eyes a little more smokey and blown out. I really loved her look because it was smokey, yet still classic and sexy. I loved that all the focus was on the eyes (that's only if you actually look at her face) and the rest of the face was very flawless, yet understated. These types of smokey looks are always my favorite and I really like how this came out, especially because it was kind of difficult to tell what exactly she had on her lids. I really hope ya'll like this look and just keep on reading to see how I put this look together!

Diamond Eyes - Glittery Purple Cut Crease & Purple Lips -

Happy Monday (or not so much) makeup junkies! Today's makeup look is a fun, glittery purple cut crease with purple lips. There's something about Summer-time that makes me want to wear bright, in your face makeup and purple has always been my go-to when I wear color. Purple is a color that works on pretty much every eye and skin color, so if you have been wanting to try out bright makeup for yourself but don't know what will work on you; try purple shadow. I love how fun and happy this makeup looks, but it's definitely the lips that are my favorite part. I used the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics "Hoochie" Lip Tar, which is one of my favorite purple lip colors. I showed you 2 different ways to wear this lip look; one is "Hoochie" on its own and the other has a pretty pink shimmer on top. This look is definitely dramatic and may be a bit much for everyone's taste. You could always do the eyes and pair it with a nude or pink lip, or do the lips and wear it with a more neutral eye. The purple lips would look awesome with little or no eye makeup and lots of mascara. These looks are to give you inspiration, but you can always change them around and add your own touch to make the looks work for you. So if you want to see how to get this look for yourself, just keep reading!!

NEON NIGHTS - Bright Summer Makeup How To feat. Sugarpill & Urban Decay

Hello my gorgeous makeup junkies! I am SO excited to share this bright as hell eye look I created. I wanted to put a really fun neon look that you could wear on a Summer night out. I used pretty much all Sugarpill and Urban Decay eyeshadows to create this look and I'm really happy with how it came out. This look is definitely in your face and crazy, but hella fun. Just looking at the colors make me so happy. I've really been loving pushing my boundaries with my makeup lately, so I've been trying out new color combos and just having fun with makeup again. I feel like everyone gets in a makeup rut sometimes and you tend to wear the same shades that youknow look good on you. That's how I felt for the last couple months, but finally I feel like I'm getting out of it. There's just something about Summertime that makes me want to wear bright colors and get crazy. Makeup is all about having fun and making yourself feel good, so try new or out there things. Even if you never go outside with it on, just have fun and see what works for you.

How To: EYES
-Apply your favorite eye primer all over the lids and underneath the lower lash line. Add a white base over top to make sure your shadows are as bright as possible.
-Add a matte cream shadow under your brow to lift and highlight.
-Using a light hand, blend "Savage" from the UD Electric palette into your upper crease to act as your transition shade.
-Apply a matte yellow shadow to the inner 1/3 of the lid and around the tear duct.
-Next take "Thrash" from the UD Electric palette and apply it to the middle of your lid. If you don't have the Electric palette, just use a lime green shadow. Make sure you blend the line between the shadows so they blend smoothly and don't have harsh edges.
-Apply "Slowburn" the outer half of your eye, leaving a little blank space at the very outer corner.
-Blend a matte bright purple shadow into the crease. Use this shade to help your lid colors blend out more seamlessly.
-Taking "Urban" on a pencil brush, apply it into the socket and outer corner of your lid. Blend out this shade with the previous color.
-Apply a purple eyeliner to your waterlines and smudge it onto your lower lash line.
-Smudge out that line further with "Urban", then blend it out with your matte purple. Add a little bit of "Savage" to blend out your lower lash line even further.
-Apply a teal or blue eyeliner to your upper lash line.
-Then curl your lashes and apply mascara. Falsies will make this look even more dramatic and fun!
