NAKED eyes: A Thanksgiving How-To using the Urban Decay NAKED palette

Hey guys! I wanted to get my third and final Thanksgiving look up, since the day is almost here. I wanted to create an easy, yet striking and glamorous look and I thought what better to use than the original UD NAKED palette. I love that this palette has everything you need to create a perfect look, whether it's a super simple eye look or a dramatic smoky eye. Even if you don't own this exact palette, the shadows I used are all really easy colors to replicate. I wanted these eyes to be very super easy, yet still look unique. So I created a very a glamorous eye look that was simple and shimmery on the lid and sort of smoky and mysterious on the lower lash line. I kept the rest of the face simple and glowing by using a CC cream and some very well placed highlighter, then added a fun pop of color on the lips by using a pink/berry lip tar from OCC. I love the way this whole look came together and I think it is perfect for any of you looking for a last minute, easy look that you can throw on and still be the most glamorous woman in the room!

How To: EYES
-Apply your favorite primer all over your lid and underneath the lower lash line. Then apply a bronze base to the lid only, staying under the crease.
-From your NAKED palette, take "Virgin" and apply it right underneath your brow to highlight and lift the eyes. Virgin is a very light, satin finish beige eyeshadow.
-Then on a large fluffy blending brush, blend "Naked" into your crease. This will act as your transition shade. Naked is a light matte brown shadow, that has a bit of warmth to it.
-Mix together "Sin" and "Virgin" and apply it to the inner 1/3 of the lids. If you are a medium/deep skin tone you could get away with just using "Sin" and it would be bright enough. Sin is a shimmery, light pink champagne shadow.
-On the rest of the lid, apply "Sidecar" eyeshadow. Sidecar is a shimmery warm taupe shadow with silver sparkles.
-On a smaller blending brush, blend "Buck" into your crease and down into your outer corner. You want to make sure you blend any lines in the crease away- everything should flow together and look very soft. Buck is a medium, matte warm toned brown.
-On a damp brush, pick up "Smog" and apply it from inner to outer corner on the lower lash line. You can bring this shadow as far down as you are comfortable with, but the point is for this part to look smoky. You also don't have to use a damp brush if you are in a rush, because this shadow is very pigmented on it's own- using it damp will make it slightly more metallic. Smog is a slightly metallic, warm dirty-bronze shade.
-Take a shimmery light gold shadow or pigment and apply it around the tear ducts to add a brightening effect to the eyes. I used a loose pigment, but if you're wanting to stick to the NAKED palette only you can just dampen your brush and apply "Virgin" there instead.
-Take liquid liner and apply a thin line on the upper lash line, creating a wing at the outer edges. This look would also be just as beautiful if you left out the eyeliner.
-Rim your eyes with a black kohl pencil. Deep brown or nude would be really pretty as well.
-Apply lots of mascara to the upper and lower lashes. You can apply falsies if you want, but I decided not to.

How To: FACE
-Start off by applying an illuminating primer all over your face. You really want your skin to look fresh and glowy, but if you have super oily skin you could use your normal primer instead.
-With a damp sponge or brush, buff your favorite BB, CC, or TM (tinted moisturizer) all over your face. This will even out your skin tone, but still feel super light on your skin.
-Use a slightly lighter concealer under the eyes and on any other places you want to highlight. I applied it to the center of my forehead and chin, down the bridge of my nose and cupid's bow, and also right above my jaw line.
-Set your face with a powder that has a natural finish. You want your face to last, but you still want some of that glow to shine through.
-Apply bronzer to the outer portions of your face. You don't have to do a harsh contour with this look, unless you want to. I used a fluffy powder blush to apply my matte bronzer, so I would still have definition but it would look more natural than if I would have went in with a small brush and heavily contoured.
-Apply a peachy-pink blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend back. You can either use a matte blush or one with a sheen to it. The one I used had a slight golden sheen to it.
-Apply a champagne colored highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones and anywhere else you want to have a glow to it.
-Fill in your brows like you normally would.
-For the lips, I used a lip tar in a deep pink/berry shade. I would suggest using a liquid lipstick or some sort of a lip stain, therefor you won't be worried about touching it up all day and you can eat without wondering if it's all over your face or teeth.

I know it may seem like a bunch of steps, but honestly this look took me just under 30 minuted to complete. I hope you guys like this look and I also really hope that any of you celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow have a blessed and happy day. We all need to take a step back tomorrow and just think about how truly lucky we are and be thankful for that. Even if you are going through a hard time, especially if you're going through a hard time, it really helps to just take a deep breath and find the happiness and joy around you. Life is only as good as YOU make it out to be!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Plum and Orange Autumn Smoky Eye: Makeup Tutorial feat. the Kat Von D Ladybird palette (Thanksgiving look #2)

Hey guys! I wanted to share with you all my second look in my Thanksgiving make-up ideas mini series. Today's look is a colorful smoky eye using the Kat Von D Ladybird palette. I wanted to create a smoky eye using color, but that is still wearable and this palette is absolutely perfect for that. I love the way the plum lid blends up into a burnt orange crease. The colors are so quintessentially Autumn and will wow anyone at your Thanksgiving feast. I also wanted to use this palette, because I just heard that Kat Von D is discontinuing this palette soon and I wanted you all to see how pretty it is so you can get it before it's gone for good. I hope ya'll enjoy this look, so just keep reading to see a full picture tutorial on how to achieve this look for yourself!

Step 1- Prime Lids
^Apply primer all over your lid, up to the brow and underneath the lower lash line. Then apply a nude base all over your lids to cancel out any redness or veining.

Step 2- Brow Highlight
^Apply a matte or sating cream shadow underneath the brow to highlight.

Step 3- Transition/Blending Shade
^Blend a matte peach shadow into the upper crease to act as your transition/blending shade. This will allow there to be a smoother transition from the brow highlight and the deeper crease colors to come. I used Makeup Geek's "Peach Smoothie" shadow.

Step 4- Lid Color
^Pat a matte plum colored shadow all over the lid up to the crease. I used "Fur Elise" from the Kat Von D Ladybird palette.

Step 5- Crease
^On a fluffy blending brush blend a matte burnt orange shadow into the crease. You want to keep the shape of the this look very rounded, so don't wing out your crease. This shadow is "Cleopatra" from the Ladybird palette.

Step 6- Crease
^On a small blend brush, blend a deep orange-based brown shadow right into your socket line. Take a clean blending brush, to blend out the harsh edges between the crease shades. You want the crease to look quite blended and soft, but still be able to see the gradient between colors. I used "Wolf" from the Ladybird palette.

Step 7- Touch Up
^You may have blended away some of your lid color, or too much of the orange in your crease so go back and touch up anything you feels needs it. I touched up steps 4-6.

Step 8- Liner
^Apply black gel liner to the lid and also tightline your eyes with it. You do not want to draw a wing on your liner, again to keep with the rounded shape. You also want to line your lower waterline with a plum eyeliner.

Step 9- Lower Lashline
^Blend the orange shadow underneath the lower lash line. You want to bring this shadow pretty low down and connect it up with your lid. Then you want to blend the plum shadow close to the lashes. You only want to bring this color half way in.

Step 10- Tear Duct Highlight
^Apply a very shimmery light gold around the tear ducts to brighten up your eyes.

Step 11- Lashes
^Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes. You can use false lashes if you want to. I used the Too Faced Better than False Lashes lash extension kit and I have to say, I'm very happy with the results.

Step 12- Glitter
^Apply a copper glitter along the inner corner of the lower lash line to add an extra pop to the look.
