Rasta Eyes feat. the BH Cosmetics 120 eye palette 1st. edition

Hi luvs! Today I was surprised to get a wonderful little package at my door. A few days ago I ordered to palettes from BH cosmetics, the 120 1st. edition palette and the 88 neutrals palette. I wasn't expecting them in so soon seeing as how it's only been about 3-4 days since I put the order in, but low and behold they arrived at my door and I couldn't have been happier. When I opened the 120 palette I literally did a little happy dance of joy. I have never owned any palettes like these besides like the ELF one, which I am not a big fan of at all because the pigmentation sucks. But when I opened the BH one I was just blown away at the bright and vibrant colors contained in there. So immediately I went to swatching colors on my arm and I have to say they do have great pigmentation and they swatched lovely. I was so happy that I hadn't put on any makeup yet today so that I could hurry up and do a fun, bright eye look with the palette.

I was discussing color combos with my fiancee and he gave me some great ideas, but I knew I wanted to do a Rasta inspired look first. Rasta colors have always been my favorite. I just feel like the red, yellow, and green look so beautiful together and I also like what the colors represent as well. The red stands for the blood of the people, the yellow symbolizes wealth and the sun back in Ethiopia, green stands for the plants and vegetation, specifically back in Ethiopia, and the black is for Africa and the color of their skin. Now even though I am just a little white girl, or at least I'm sure that's what some people would say, I fully appreciate this spiritual religion and I also respect the Rastafarian's struggle.

So for this look I used all matte colors with just a tiny bit of a shimmery red pigment in the tear ducts. I applied a white base all over the lid and then applied a matte red to the inner corners, a matte yellow to the center, and a matte green to the outer corners. I made sure to blend the colors together slightly where the meet so there were no distinct lines between the colors. I then took a neutral light/medium brown and blended out the crease so things would flow better and also so there would be a nice transition between the lid and the brow highlight. For the brow highlight I just used a matte cream shade and blended it down into the brown to further enhance the gradient. I applied just a hint of Sugarpill's "Asylum" loose shadow to the tear ducts to add a bit of light. I then applied black liquid liner and winged it out at the edges and some black gel liner to the waterline and tightline.

Hi everyone, how are you all doing on this wonderful Friday night? Today's look is using the bright colors from the new Maybelline Color Tattoo pigment eyeshadows. Yes, I did go back the next day to buy the rest of the collection and oooh they did not disappoint!

I decided I wanted to use all the bright colors in one fun "Tropical" look. I very rarely wear this much color on my eyes in every day life, but I wore this all day and I really, really loved it. I kept the rest of the face very natural with just a touch of bronzer, a touch of natural blush, and just a hint of gloss on the lips. I also kept my eyebrows very natural by just filling them in a bit with a light taupe shadow.

Copper Twist on a Smokey Eye

Hey ya'll! This is mainly just a picture post of an eye look I did a couple days ago. I've been kind of bored of my usual black and grey smokey eye so I decided to mix it up a bit. One of my favorite pigments I own is MAC's "Copper Sparkle", so I used that as my main focus on the upper lid. It is just a gorgeous shimmery, metallic warm copper color that looks so beautiful on brown and blue eyes. I also love that I don't even have to foil the pigment to get that strong, glistening look.

So I applied the Copper pigment all over the lid, put a touch of "Melon" pigment in the inner corner, added some warm matte browns in the crease to help blend out the shimmery black I used in the crease and outer corner. I had originally thought about using dark brown in place of the black, but I really thought the shimmery black would tie together much better with the bright silver I was going to add to the lower lashline.

So that takes me to the lower lashline which is the other star of this look.  I very rarely mix super warm and super cool colors together, but I feel like these colors all flow very well together. I feel like your blending colors really play a big part in pulling looks like this together, because you have that warmth on the lid and then the cooler charcoal, black on the outer corner connecting to the silver on the lower lashline, so by using the warm brown as your transtion color it just really helps pull everything together and make it look much more put together. I also added a touch of a champage gold color right to the tear duct to brighten my eyes up a little more.

Target Beauty Haul w/ Swatches and First Impressions

Hey guys, today I ran to Target to pick up a couple things for my house (things bought not included) and of course I had to stop by the makeup aisle. I was so excited to finally see the display for Maybelline's new Summer products. I have literally been waiting for months for this collection to appear somewhere around me. The collection, which is permanent, includes pigments, a stick foundation, and some smokey shadow sticks (didn't buy). I am the HUGEST fan of pigments, because you can do a million and one things with them and when I heard Maybelline was coming out with a whole collection of them I literally squealed with joy, because you very rarely find pigments in the drugstore. I also was very excited to see a low-end brand come out with a stick foundation, because you can also use them for so many things and they're usually very easy to apply. I also picked up my Summer shaving essentials, because who wants to be stubbly in a swimsuit? Not me!

Scroll down for pictures, swatches, and first impressions

^This shaving cream is my absolute favorite to use during the hot months. I have really dry skin that tends to get extra flaky and irritated if I use a regular shave gel because it's not moisturizing enough and the shave lotion I use in Winter is a little too much. So Skintimate SkinTherapy to the rescue! It is a lotionized shave gel, so it's a little thicker and much more moisturizing that plain old shave gel. The lotion in it makes my skin super soft and helps prevent any yucky shave bumps, nicks, or irritated patches

^This products is also an essential for the Summer months. This is a super awesome gel that is made for the bikini area, but I also use it on my under-arms, as well. This helps prevent you from getting irritation or shave bumps and also stops ingrown hairs from happening. This doesn't lather and stays in a very slick gel consistency. Since I started using this in those areas, I haven't gotten a single yucky ingrown hair and it has also cut down on the shave bumps completely.

^This product was a complete impulse buy. It is the Pixi Silky Eye Pen in Copper Glow. This was sat out on there new collection display and I was just totally drawn to it. Pictures and swatches don't do this eyeliner justice. It is a gorgeous reddish-copper, brown eye pencil that has a beautiful sheen to it. I have been so in love with warm, reddish browns lately because they really complement my eye color. I do own a couple other colors in the pencils and I love them. They have a smooth consistency and just glid effortlessly to the lid or waterline. I also find that these last a long time on me and don't smudge.

^These are the Maybelline Shine-Free foundation sticks. I bought the 2 lightest shades in the collection so that I would be able to highlight and contour with them. I love stick foundations, because they can be used to conceal, highlight, contour, and of course just be used as foundation. I haven't tried these on my face yet, but from swatching them, they have a very light and silky feel to them. They feel like they some type of a silicone base to them. They're have an almost gel consistency to them, that feels super light to the touch. I'm excited to try these out tomorrow because I feel that with the consistency, they're going to be light on the skin and last a good while. I'm not quite sure of the coverage but it seemed like light-medium on my hand. I am planning on doing a full review on these after I test them out a bit.
^Shade 115 Ivory, second to lightest in the collection. It has a more yellow undertone to it

^Shade 110 Porcelain, this is the lightest shade of the group and has a more pink undertone to it.

^This is my most exciting find of the day. I picked up all the neutral shadows in the collection and I have to say after swatching them, I'm heading back to Target tomorrow to buy the rest of the collection. I absolutely freaking love these pigments. They are gorgeous and apply beautifully. I could honestly compare them, based on my swatches, to my MAC pigments. They are finely milled and highly pigmented. They weren't gritty and looked super soft on the skin.

I did swatch them, but I am planning to do a full review on the entire collection after I pick them up tomorrow. I also want to test these out in some eye looks and use them wet and dry to fully get a grasp on the best way to apply these. So, check back soon for my review. It should be up within a week or so.

^Wild Gold- this is a shimmery yellow, gold

^Barely Brazen- shimmery nude shade, matches perfectly to the Barely Branded Color Tattoo

^Breaking Bronze- Shimmery golden, bronze shade

^Buff & Tuff- Mid-tone brown with gold glitter- this is the only one that I purchased with actual glitter in it. It applied beautifully and wasn't chunky at all

^Downtown Brown- Shimmery warm, medium brown

Check back soon for all reviews promised! Hope you guys enjoyed my haul <3
